The Recipe and Batch Management System is a system designed to help people or entities who are producing
batches of edible produce track their recipes and experiments as they go. It was initially designed to help
the owners of this website track the production of mead (a form of alcoholic beverage) as we make homebrew
concoctions to share with friends and family.
Although our eventual aim is to formally produce sellable
mead that we can sell through this website we realised that other people might also find a similar system
useful for themselves with their home made experiments both alcoholic and non alcoholic. In that vane we have
generalised the language of the website so that people could use it to create and track things like home made
alcohol, cheese, jams, preserves, or any other recipes that your imagination can create and tinker with
to find the perfect result. It's all about the storage of data, in a way that helps you track your produce.
What does it offer?
The ability to formulate recipes that can be tinkered with, copied, upscaled, and shared with other users of the system.
The ability to log the creation of batches, based on the recipes you've created. Batches that can be tracked,
with diary entries for notable events, staging into various containers, and feedback from consumers.
The ability to track specific gravity readings for alcoholic produce. (Although we don't currently
give alcoholic estimates, for legal reasons, we might in future once we work through the legalities of providing such estimates).
The ability to collaborate by sharing information on recipes and batches with friends or colleagues that are also
using the system.
